what a lucky duck i am! this writer that i had apparently given my business card to YEARS ago emailed me out of the blue a month ago and ask if i wanted to be in her article! anyway, it is a real treat and am SO happy that nothing is hanging out of my nose and that i don't look cross-eyed!

anyhow, i'm finishing up some last orders this week in preparation for the kids getting out of school. last bit of christmas shopping being done. i told my hubs that the holidays are really expensive, either financially or in time (which to me is a precious commodity as well). so i've tried to make a few diy gifts ideas that i got from pinterest. can i tell you HOW much i love that website??? anyhow there are so many craft ideas involving paint chip samples that i came up with a visual...LOL. art degree at it's best.

alright i gotta get back to my modge podging. : )

boy, this season was hard. i had hoped to blog away and have loads to share but honestly i'm spent. i'm trying to rally and get into the holiday season since i realized that I ONLY HAVE TWO MORE WEEKS BEFORE MY KIDS ARE OUT OF SCHOOL! YIKES! too much to do and never enough time...i feel like i heard that before....LOVE SARCASM!

anyhow i love having my sanity back! here are a few new things i wanted to post...some new info for next year!!

i've been continuing to bust my butt!! i can't believe the shows are almost upon me! i decided to give some incentives to come see all the stuff i'm making! i know i make this stuff but really, it is so pretty in person. you've got to come check it out and stock up on your gifts early! ps, there are over 255 other vendors at the chi-o show and the talent at the jingle bash rival NONE since it's strictly a HANDMADE show!

i only have two shows this fall...a little different from the EIGHT i had last year! but these two shows are going to pack the punch of all those 8 put together. so between the sweat shopping and domestic duties, this sad poor blog has seen no kind of light. anyway, i'm here and alive and still working away. i know i'm doing what i'm supposed to be doing because after i make something, i usually just sit and hold it in my hands. i marvel at it and can't actually fathom that i made it. : ) anywho here is a sneak peek at what i've been putting together this week...

Sit Down to Stand Up for Kids: Little Chairs for a Big Cause is Etsy Dallas' first ever charity-spotlight event. We invite you to come party with us, all while raising money for a good cause. Etsy Dallas believes in giving back to our community, and we do it by using our artistic talents to help out others!

Join Etsy Dallas as we work to blend creativity and charity on October 13th from 6:30 - 9:00pm in The Blue Room at South Side on Lamar (1409 S. Lamar, Dallas TX). Guests can bid on small chairs handmade by David Patton of Ferrochie that have each been uniquely decorated by Etsy Dallas artists. All proceeds benefit the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC), a non-profit agency serving abused children in Dallas County.

While browsing the creatively designed and decorated chairs, guests can enjoy free food, drinks, music and great company. Admission is free, but voluntary charitable donations will be accepted at the door. See you on October 13!

here is a clip i made for a bride! i LOVE it! i curled each of those feathers and made sure everything was just so!!

next, i decided to make another style of butterfly! i love the little details in each of these sweet clips! as always, everything is customizable so if you like pearls instead of black beads or want a different print, just message me! no problem!

summer is finally winding down. i wish the dallas weather would catch up!! my skin feels like it's sizzling when under direct sun. i'm sitting here needing to catch up on life, business and the general stuff and all i can do is keep dreaming about carmel, ca. here is a pic i took just a few weeks ago.

crazy thing is it smells AS beautiful as it looks. there is wild rosemary and other herbs just rampant mixed with the salty sea breeze...it is heaven. anyway, i'll just sit here and keep staring at this picture....

oh heavens i did it again. i go into blog-coma after any event/big craft show/ little craft show/tuesday. ; ) i have been busy but busy regrouping. this is about the time of year you sign up for all the big shows in the fall and i'm in that process now. november seems so far away but i know a couple of blinks and poof summer is over then you're looking at another set of blinks before it's new years! also in this regrouping phase, i am hoarding fabric! linens from goodwill, estate sales, scrap donations, i'm a shopping maniac! i'm also tying to add more to my store!!

well how do you do? i promise i'm not just slacking off, i in fact have just come back from a 16 days whirlwind of a trip to my motherland...with my mother and kids and husband too. ; ) korea was wonderful in every way and i can honestly say i loved every minute of it. i did get to spend some time looking for silla soup stuff and i'm happy to say i got a big ole suitcase full of it!! can't wait to play! so keep posted, i'm trying to get through the jet-lagged induced inertia.

i love custom orders more than anything. it makes me go outside the box, to make something unique with added oomph. but nothing beats a custom wedding order!!! all this excitement got me to thinking i should start a silla soup wedding line!!! i have a bunch of things in the works and once i get models and real photos, i'll go official. oh to a part of such a beautiful day in someone's life!!!

man, i lived in boston for nearly seven years and had to do my share of shoveling snow. i did not expect that nearly every year since moving to dallas that i would have to continue this darn blasted chore! add insult to injury, both my kids were home with the flu last week...i am about to go CRAZY!!!

THANKFULLY, in the middle of all the ice, snow and cabin fever, my mom and sister are trapped here in dallas with us. : ) we've been working at times on some new ideas for the spring and here is a sneak peek. enjoy!

despite all the snow, my poor frost-bitten fingers have managed to eek out a few new items. i decided to start a line of delicate infant headbands called 'itty bitty soup'. i've loved making these little things because they are so dang cute. now i just need to get my hands on a new born baby girl to model!!! ; ) here is a prototype of one that's a little different.

as this year comes to a close, i want to thank all of you out there who have supported me and this wonderful adventure!! this past season has been such fun and also a TON of work. i am really looking forward to the time off and being with my family glue gun free. : ) although, truth be told, i've already hunted out amazing amazing bright and cheery spring fabrics and beautiful vintage ones so we'll see if i can actually keep away.

the last day to order items for the holidays is this friday. PLEASE NOTE, i will continue to keep my etsy store open but orders after this friday will take three weeks to ship!!

then i got lucky at a local goodwill! this authentic vintage linen is fantastic on SO many levels, i'm scared to actually cut into it!

i've got to be the absolute worst blogger. i feel bad for wasting people's time and clicks. ; ) anyhow, i have been bombarded with activity. mostly good, like out of town guests and visits to family but a lot of trying to keep sane while my kids are home and the summer slowly dwindled away. i can't believe it's the last weekend of the summer before school. wowsers! trying to get a bunch done before the next big show in 2 days!! last year's spring bash was my very first show. looking back though all that i have learned this past year is...humbling, rewarding, mind blowing, etc! i remember wanting to hide under the tables and if it wasn't for my pal, heather, i would have! really, it's hard to believe it's only been ONE year! i'm looking forward to this show and the big ole steak i'm going to treat my family to once its done!!

i know not everyone feel comfortable with feathers in their hair or bouffant boasting a bouquet of silla soup!! it's understandable and truth be told, i hardly ever wear my stuff in my hair. that being said, since i live in texas the land of air conditioning, i always have a sweater or cardigan on me. here is the easy way to turn one of my hair clips into brooch without ruining your sweater!

place a safety pin on the inside

then clip onto pin! good to go!

i know i make them, but i have to say, the clips really do a good job of dressing up any ole sweater!

the urban bazaar proved to be a great show. the weather was sublime, the customers were happy and overall a huge success. the only problem is that my inventory took a hit and if i want to have fun at the etsy dallas spring bash, i gotta get cracking!

what fun, what fun!! had an absolute blast at the urban bazaar in the bishop art's district today! i really liked interacting with all the people that passed through and seriously could not have asked for better weather. i'm grateful for the friends that popped by and for the friends that helped me take a break! i'm gearing up for another full day tomorrow!
